Your voice matters here, because we know that to inspire and retain the best people, we must empower them.Providence Health Plan is calling a Principal Clinical Informatics Specialist RN who will:Combine advanced clinical nursing skills with technical knowledge to create systems that improve the quality of patient outcomesDrive Providence Health Plan's clinical data acquisition efforts, with a primary focus on acquisition of electronic medical record dataPartner closely with key network partners to understand current state workflowsEducate providers on the HEDIS measure specificationsPossess strong technical knowledge of Electronic Medical Record Reporting, Clinical Quality Measurement, Data Integration, metric evolutionHave advanced knowledge of desktop software applications (e.g., MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, Tableau, etc.)Interpret clinical quality measures with a strong understanding of how current state workflows fit (or do not fit) into HEDIS metricsServe as an Informatics subject matter expert with attention to detail and strong analytical thinking skillsLead the way with development and identification of strategies and best practicesAnalyze EHR data to identify areas where care can be improvedPossess a broad knowledge and understanding of the trends and changes taking place in health care, including HEDIS Electronic Clinical Data Systems Measurement and reportingConduct primary source verification on clinical dataFacilitate process and program enhancements to support Providence Health Plan's clinical data acquisition programPromulgate use of evidence-based clinical practice by developing best practices and corresponding performance improvement projectsServe as a leader applying advanced education and experience to effectively address complex clinical-technical challenges in diverse healthcare delivery environmentsDemonstrate comprehensive understanding of clinical process and practice standards, patient flow and operational processesFoster their personal knowledge by keeping abreast of developments in Informatics and industry trends

Required qualifications for this position include:Bachelor's Degree - Nursing5+ Years of clinical experience in a hospital, clinic or health plan setting3+ Years of experience with quality measurement (E.G. HEDIS, eCQM, etc.) including data collection and analysis in a hospital, clinic or health plan setting1+ years of experience working with informatics in a hospital, clinic or health plan settingRN License - State of Residency: Oregon, Washington, California
Preferred qualifications for this position include:Master's Degree - Informatics, Information Technology, Public Health or another clinical discipline such as Nursing or another healthcare related field of study1+ years of Health Plan HEDIS experienceInformatics certifications or credentialingActive Clinical Informatics or EHR certification
