We generate high-quality evidence to improve early resuscitation of civilian and military populations alike. We have a special focus on improving patient outcomes in resource-constrained settings - our current focus is in South Africa. Our research involves trauma care provided in ambulances, emergency rooms, intensive care units, and operating rooms. The C3 Network is funded by US federal research grants, and we have a track record of over 100 scientific publications and conference presentations. Examples of current projects include: blood products and drugs to save lives in dangerous bleeding; care of patients with traumatic brain injuries; strategies to avoid wound infections; and innovative care for penetrating chest trauma. Our discoveries in these areas will propel forward the field of trauma care and help reduce death and disability worldwide.Principal Information Sciences Professionals utilize applied or computational mathematical analyses for a wide array of different applications and to solve complex data-related problems in health. This position requires strong experience with data coding, data programming, data cleaning, data manipulation, and database management. This position requires familiarity and experience with public health, clinical or epidemiological database research, preferably in emergency or trauma care.This data analyst/programmer/data manager position will work mostly independently, with light supervision from the Principal Investigator, PhD biostatisticians, and Program Manager. The successful candidate will assist the team with: coding and programming; data management; data cleaning; design of studies, data collection instruments, and research tools; plan and conduct analysis of primary and/or secondary health data; and assist with manuscript and presentation preparation on a variety of trauma-related projects.
