We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our dynamic therapy team on a Full-Time basis (Mon-Fri 8a-5p). The ideal candidate will be passionate about providing high-quality patient care, possess excellent communication skills, and collaborate effectively with our team of healthcare professionals. Majority of clients being treated in the clinic are intellectually disabled or have other neurological disorders.
Payrate: $30/hr or $62.400/year
Job Details:
1:1 Patient Sessions:Each therapist will have the opportunity to work one-on-one with patients, providing personalized and focused care.
Patient Load:The position involves seeing approx 7 patients per day, allowing for thorough and effective treatment sessions.
Standard 40-Hour Work Week:Our therapists clock in for a standard 40-hour work week, ensuring a balanced work-life schedule. Start/end are flexible but often determined by Mary Lee Foundation client schedule along with the schedule of external clients.
Ample Time for Documentation:We provide sufficient time during the workday for therapists to complete their documentation and finish notes, unlike other clinics where staff often stay late to complete these tasks.
Customizable Schedules:Due to the unique nature of our clinic, therapists have the autonomy to build their own schedules and adjust client appointments as needed. This flexibility allows therapists to create a work schedule that best suits their personal and professional needs.
Flexible Start and Stop Times:Start and stop times are fluid, often determined by the Mary Lee Foundation client schedule as well as external clients, providing a dynamic and adaptable work environment.
Reduced Productivity Requirements:Our clinic places a strong emphasis on patient care over productivity metrics. Unlike many other clinics, our productivity requirements are significantly lower, enabling therapists to focus more on meeting patient goals and delivering the highest level of care without the pressure of the clinic's bottom line.
Responsibilities:
Assist licensed Physical Therapists in the implementation of patient treatment plans.Work closely with patients to execute therapeutic exercises and activities as prescribed by the treating therapist.Monitor and record patient progress during therapy sessions, reporting any changes to the supervising Physical Therapist.Instruct and educate patients on proper techniques for exercises and activities to be performed at home.Assign specific exercises for the patient and help the patients do these exercises.Use devices, such as walkers, and other equipment to help patients regain movement and reduce pain.Use a variety of techniques, including stretching exercises and massage, to treat patients.Assist patients when moving to and from the therapy area.Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including treatment plans, progress notes, and other relevant documentation.Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient care.Provide support in maintaining a clean and organized therapy environment.Stay informed about advancements in physical therapy techniques and technologies.Demonstrate safe and effective guarding techniques for patients with poor balance who are at risk for falls throughout therapy sessions.Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.Current state Licensure or eligibility for Licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.Detail-oriented and organized with excellent time management skills.Compassionate and patient-focused approach to healthcare.
Experience:
Previous experience as a Physical Therapy Ass stant is preferred but not required for entry-level candidates.
