A law firm seeks an experienced Employment Law Associate Attorney to join its Labor and Employment Practice Group in Boston, MA. The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of legal experience, with at least 3 years specializing in employment law. This role offers the opportunity to represent employers in state and federal court, as well as administrative agencies, on a variety of employment matters including wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wage and hour disputes. The position also involves providing strategic advice and counseling to employers on issues such as hiring, terminations, workplace discipline, and accommodations.Duties:
Represent employers in litigation related to employment law, including cases of wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, and wage and hour claims.Counsel employers on employment law matters, such as hiring practices, terminations, reductions in force, and workplace performance management.Provide advice on compliance with statutory leave, disability accommodations, and other regulatory requirements.Perform legal research and draft memoranda, motions, and pleadings.Attend court conferences and manage discovery processes, including e-discovery and investigations.Draft employment-related documents, including position statements, separation agreements, handbooks, and policies.Advise clients on a wide range of labor and employment issues, offering proactive solutions.Work collaboratively with experienced attorneys while managing individual cases and responsibilities.Requirements:
5-7 years of legal experience, with at least 3 years focused on employment law.Strong litigation skills, including experience representing clients before state and federal courts and agencies.Excellent legal writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills.Ability to work effectively in a team environment while managing cases independently.Strong communication skills for advising sophisticated business clients.Ability to manage a fast-paced workload and meet deadlines.Education:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.Certifications:
Membership in good standing with the Massachusetts Bar (or admission to another state bar to join the Massachusetts Bar).Skills:
Expertise in employment law and litigation.Strong legal research and document drafting skills.Proficiency in managing complex discovery and case preparation.Ability to provide sound legal advice on employment policies and workplace issues.Experience in labor law is a bonus but not required.Location:
