Description & Requirements
You will join a team to actualize projects with Forvis Mazars clients in the nonprofit industry from planning and procedures performed to the writing of final documents to the client. You will participate in client meetings, internal meetings, and project development. Projects could include accounting services, consulting, forecasting/projections, outsourced/interim controller duties, technology implementation support and overall solution-finding for Forvis Mazars clients related to their financial systems, processes, and records.
This position offers an excellent opportunity for candidates who possess strong attention to detail, sensitivity to timeline and project management capabilities. Dedication to client service is essential, including consistently positive interactions with clients and the demonstration of effective communication and human relations techniques. The successful candidate will be a proactive worker with excellent project management and time management experience and knows when and how to keep the engagement executive apprised of client status and issues that need to be escalated.
How you will contribute:
Working on a variety of financial, accounting, and compliance projects, with a primary focus on the nonprofit industryAssessing an organization's needs and developing creative solutions through technologyPerforming industry and technical research for the development of new client solutionsOverseeing overall project management including planning, monitoring, and completing consulting projects in the areas of process improvement, operational assessments, compliance, and financial reportingAssisting with outsourced accounting services including:General ledger and financial statement preparationMonthly and year-end closing assistanceAccount and bank reconciliationsAudit preparation servicesPerforming operational and financial assessments of the client's finance department's processes, policies, procedures, and internal controlsAssisting with the development of policies and proceduresGuiding engagement relationships with appropriate levels of client interactionStewarding calendar/meetings for client and team interactionsUtilizing technology and best practices to improve internal processesAssisting with new business development, fostering client relationships, qualifying leads, and scoping opportunities. Ability to utilize social media and outlook for mail merge/email blast/postings preferredWe are looking for people with Forward Vision and:
Aptitude to communicate both up and downstream to team staff and exercise judgment in determining client interactionsThe experience to steward and prioritize multiple client projects, including monitoring project time budgets and consistently meeting or exceeding agreed-upon timelinesThe experience to professionally write and communicate solutions including but not limited to client meetings, internal meetings, and projectsAdvanced computer experience and the aptitude to learn new software related to the accounting function of an organizationHigh attention to detail as well as strong analytical skillsThe ability to travel on occasionMinimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or Finance5 years or more of accounting and/or consulting experience, primarily in the nonprofit industryFluency in Microsoft Office SuitePreferred Qualifications:
At least 1 year of client service experienceCPA license or eligibility to sit for the CPA examExperience with QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online, FENXT, Sage Intacct, NetSuiteHas been involved with or lead a GL system implementationPrivate industry accounting department role
