Position Overview:
We are looking for a Senior Computer Forensic Analyst/Examiner with 5+ years of experience in digital forensics, eDiscovery, and investigations. In this senior-level role, you will lead advanced forensic investigations, oversee complex Collection and Analysis projects, and provide expert testimony. Additionally, you will play a critical role in mentoring and training more junior forensic consultants, helping to shape the next generation of talent within the team. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a proven track record of successfully managing forensic cases in a legal context.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and execute complex digital forensic investigations, including data acquisition, imaging, and analysis of digital devices, networks, and cloud platforms.
Provide expert witness testimony and prepare forensic reports, explaining technical findings and methodologies in a clear and defensible manner.
Oversee a large portion of the eDiscovery process, including the identification, collection, preservation, and analysis of electronically stored information (ESI) for litigation and investigations.
Train, mentor, and assist in the development of forensic consultants and examiners, providing technical guidance, best practices, and on-the-job training to ensure their growth and performance.
Collaborate with legal and end client teams to define and implement defensible data collection strategies, ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and technical standards.
Stay current with new technologies, forensic tools, and industry trends, sharing knowledge with the team and ensuring the application of the latest methodologies.
Develop and refine internal forensic protocols, ensuring the highest quality control and compliance with industry standards.
Lead forensic project teams, ensuring successful project execution and timely delivery of results to clients.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
Timeliness of Case Completion: Ensure that 95% of assigned forensic investigations and data collection projects are completed within specified timelines, with proactive communication on delays.
Training and Mentoring Assistance: Provide regular training sessions and on-the-job mentorship, leading to a 90% success rate in peer group achieving their performance goals and progressing in their forensic expertise.
Client Satisfaction and Feedback: Achieve a 95% or higher satisfaction rating from clients (both internal and external) regarding the quality, communication, and timeliness of forensic work.
Forensic Tool Proficiency: Demonstrate complete proficiency in forensic tools (e.g., EnCase, FTK, Cellebrite, Magnet AXIOM, etc), leading by example and resolving 90% of technical issues without external support.
Protocol and Process Improvements: Identify and implement at least three new or improved forensic processes or protocols per year, driving team efficiency and quality.
Compliance with Legal Standards: Maintain 100% compliance with legal, regulatory, and chain-of-custody standards, ensuring no violations or mishandling of evidence.
Professional Development: Complete or maintain at least one relevant certification or advanced training per year (e.g., EnCE, CCE, CFE), staying at the forefront of the field.
Qualifications:
5+ years of hands-on experience in Digital Forensics, eDiscovery, and forensic investigations, with a proven ability to manage complex cases and projects.
Expertise with forensic tools such as EnCase, FTK, Cellebrite, Magnet AXIOM, X-Ways, and others.
Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with experience in training and developing junior team members.
Experience providing both written and oral expert testimony in legal settings, with the ability to explain complex technical information clearly.
Strong communication skills, including the ability to write detailed forensic reports and present findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Certifications such as EnCE, ACE, CCE, or CFE are strongly preferred.
Preferred Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Digital Forensics, or a related field (advanced degrees preferred).
Advanced knowledge of other life cycle platforms such as Relativity, Nuix, or other tools.
Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, PowerShell) for automating forensic tasks.
Experience with mobile devices and cloud forensics.
Ability to quickly respond to on-site requests and travel with little notice, handling case completion with little oversight.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
