Lead Business Development and Strategic Growth InitiativesWe are seeking a dynamic Vice President of Growth to lead business development and sales strategy for a pioneering company with over 30 years of experience delivering critical solutions for the defense and space sectors. In this role, you will be integral to the mission of advancing technology to safeguard national security, leveraging your expertise across diverse markets such as commercial space services, turn-key product development, and government engineering services.Key Responsibilities:Develop and Drive Growth Strategy:Build and execute a comprehensive sales and business development strategy that aligns with and accelerates the company’s growth objectives.Lead efforts to identify and capture new business opportunities to meet annual and long-term goals.Lead Business Development Team:Establish, document, and train a high-performing business development team, implementing tools and processes to deliver winning proposals.Mentor and manage both direct and matrixed business development and sales personnel to ensure seamless, high-quality execution.Financial and Strategic Oversight:Develop and maintain the business development budget, ensuring all program activities are cost-effective and strategically aligned with company objectives.Brand Building and Market Engagement:Drive marketing and branding efforts to reinforce the company’s visibility and reputation in the defense and space markets.Represent the company at conferences and forums, and build long-term relationships with customers and partners.Proposal and Capture Management:Oversee proposal development, white papers, and response submissions for government and commercial requests, working collaboratively to secure substantial new contracts.Stay informed on market trends, actively positioning the company to adapt to and capture new opportunities in evolving defense and space markets.Required Skills & Experience:Market Expertise:
Established relationships and experience in at least two of the following areas: DoD engineering services, NASA engineering services, spaceflight product/system development (human spaceflight preferred), and/or commercial space services.Leadership Experience:
10+ years in business development leadership, with a proven track record of securing substantial new contracts and driving business growth.Team Leadership:
Demonstrated success in leading, mentoring, and collaborating with a high-performing business development team.Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred.Security Clearance:
Eligibility to obtain a Top Secret clearance.Special Skills and Knowledge:Communication:
Excellent presentation, writing, and speaking skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.Project and Proposal Management:
Strong project and time management skills, with a background in proposal management.Procurement Knowledge:
Expert understanding of government and commercial procurement practices, pricing strategies, and contract terms.Technical Knowledge:
