As an intern at Blue Shield of California, you will:Participate in impactful projects during a 10-week internship programUndertake a 10-week curriculum designed to familiarize interns with BSC, leadership development, exposure to the healthcare industry, and moreBe invited to participate in BSC employee events and networking opportunities such as Employee Resource Groups, employee volunteer activities, and more
General Requirements:Must reside in the state of California for the duration of the internshipHybrid requirements - Preferably live within a 50-mile radius of a BSC office and be available for in-office collaboration 2 times per monthMust currently be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at the time of the internship, with a graduation date of December 2025 or later
Your RoleThe Product Strategy organization oversees the filing of plans and partners with marketing and sales teams to monitor the success of our plans across each line of business. The team also takes charge in standing up new plans and developing go-to-market strategies as market opportunities are identified.The Market Research Intern will report to the market research manager. In this role, you will be contributing to and running market research projects to shape our strategies, products, and services that impact our members experience.
Your WorkIn this role, you will:Collaborate cross-functionally to establish an understanding of the health insurance organization, key strategic partners, along with their critical success factors to drive specific business objectivesUnderstand and demonstrate ability to apply market research principles to inform and inspire action in the business landscapeConduct and drive specific market research initiatives including contributing to research design, data analysis, and presentations to communicate key insightsProvide project management support to the Market Research team on key bodies of project workServe as the point of contact on projects, manage project plans and dashboards, content development and tactical support, assistance with documenting operating model processes, and serving as a liaison to gather information for the team
Your Knowledge and ExperienceCurrently pursuing graduate degree in business, marketing, market research, finance, statistics, psychology, health care or related fieldMust reside in the state of California, preferably in the San Francisco Bay Area, for the duration of the internshipProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint)Knowledge or interest in market research methods, survey and statistical tools preferredKnowledge or interest in the healthcare and health insurance industry preferred
Pay Range:The pay range for this role is: $25.00 to $30.00 for California.Note:Please note that this range represents the pay range for this and many other positions at Blue Shield that fall into this pay grade. Blue Shield salaries are based on a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, location (California, Bay area, or outside California), and current employee salaries for similar roles.
