We are seeking a highly skilled Locum Tenens Neurology Physician to join our team in Petoskey, MI. This position involves providing comprehensive inpatient neurology care at a 202-bed regional referral center. The role requires 24-hour shift coverage with no Advanced Practice Provider (APP) support, ensuring a hands-on and direct approach to patient care. The physician will have access to on-site lab services, radiology, EEG, MRI, and the Stroke Network, enabling thorough and efficient patient evaluations and treatments.
In this role, you will be responsible for delivering expert neurological care to inpatients, managing a range of neurological conditions. You will collaborate with 2-3 clinic providers at a time to ensure high-quality patient care, managing a caseload of 6-8 patients per day. This includes performing thorough assessments, developing accurate diagnoses, and creating effective treatment plans. Your responsibilities will also involve utilizing on-site diagnostic tools, including lab services, radiology, EEG, and MRI, to support patient care. Participation in the Stroke Network is a key aspect of this role, providing specialized stroke care and management.
Requirements:
Board Certified in Neurology.
Active and unrestricted medical license to practice in Michigan.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
Strong clinical skills in neurology, with experience in inpatient settings.
Proficiency with electronic medical records, specifically Cerner EMR.
