Manager, Market Intelligence & Fundamentals
in the AES Clean Energy commercial business. This role will support the commercial platform with fundamental market analysis, supply/demand forecasting, long-term curve modeling, short-term "Point of View" fundamentals and price, market intelligence and strategy assessment. This leader will partner with Analytics, Trading, Structuring, Innovation, Regulatory, and other teams. As part of this role, develop core and scenario strategy cases for our markets.Assess and anticipate supply and demand factors in our markets. Develop and maintain long-term market prices consistent with our broader corporate mission. With the Trading team, assess and form short-term Point of View ("POV") assessments of price in nearby markets.With the Strategy & Innovation team, develop our Market Intelligence function, including analysis of Independent System Operators, industry changes, legislation, and regulatory actions that impact our business.Deliver regular reports to support our activities in power, capacity, environmental products, and hydrogen.With broader management, recruit, manage, and develop the team's staff to support fundamentals modeling, infrastructure development, POV formation, and business-wide strategies.QualificationsBachelor's Degree required in Finance, Economics, or related field. Advanced degree desirable.10+ years of experience in fundamentals commodity analysis and modeling, including management experience. Professionals of varied experience are invited to apply and the role may be adjusted to experience level.Broad knowledge of US power markets across multiple ISOs.Fundamental modeling skills and experience with production cost modeling suites.Strong organizational skills and experience managing dynamic workflow and multiple projects.Excellent written, spoken, and presentation communication skills, including to Executive audiences.Flexible, adaptable, and agile, able to re-sequence projects based on new requirements, under tight deadlines and sometimes changing conditions.AES is an Equal Opportunity Employer who is committed to building strength and delivering long-term sustainability through diversity and inclusion.
