WHO YOU ARE
You are a compassionate School Nurse who responds to and assists children in a K-12 school setting that are injured or suffer from an illness and communicates with parents, school staff, and supports other healthcare professionals. The School Nurse will also work in the position of one-on-one paraprofessional throughout the school day with students.
WHAT YOU'LL DO Treatment - Assess the overall condition of an injured or ill child and take appropriate action, providing skillful management of childhood emergencies until additional assistance is available. Record Keeping - Responsible for coordinating with the Assistant to Education Director to ensure maintenance of student medical records in the school building where the student attends school and ensure the original student medical record follows students if they transfer to another school. Communication - Maintain proper communication with parents, in office staff, and supporting healthcare professionals Paraprofessional - Provide assistance as a para educator as needed which can include but are not limited to being a bus aide, classroom support, and beyond Other responsibilities as assigned
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a similar degree field Registered Nurse (RN), Clinical Nurse (CN), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Experience working with individuals with developmental delays
Clearances & Training Required Act 33 PA Child Abuse History Clearance Act 34 PA State Criminal History Clearance Act 114 FBI Clearance issued by the Dept of Education Act 126 Mandated Reporter Training Certificate Act 168 from Previous Employers where you came into contact with children CPR/First Aid TB/Physical
