As a Senior Data Engineer, you'll have the chance to lead a major transformation in our organization while working alongside a diverse group of makers and disruptors.About Our Organization:Enterprise Platforms Technology (EPTech) is a core part of Capital One, delivering essential enterprise capabilities and establishing best practices across the organization.Your Role:Collaborate with Agile teams to design, develop, implement, and support technical solutions using full-stack development tools and technologies.Work alongside experienced developers specializing in machine learning, distributed microservices, and full-stack systems.Utilize programming languages such as Java, Scala, Python, and cloud data warehousing services like Redshift and Snowflake.Stay ahead of tech trends, experiment with new technologies, and actively participate in our technology community while mentoring fellow engineers.Partner with digital product managers to create robust cloud-based solutions that empower millions of customers in their financial journeys.Conduct unit tests and collaborate with peers to ensure your code is efficient, well-designed, and performance-optimized.Basic Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree.4+ years of application development experience (no internships included).2+ years of experience with big data technologies.1+ year of experience in cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud).Preferred Qualifications:7+ years of application development experience using Python, Spark, or PySpark.4+ years working with a public cloud environment (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud).4+ years of experience with distributed data tools such as MapReduce, Hadoop, Hive, EMR, Kafka, or Gurobi.4+ years of experience working on real-time data and streaming applications.4+ years of experience in NoSQL implementations (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).4+ years of data warehousing experience (Redshift or Snowflake).4+ years of UNIX/Linux experience, including basic commands and shell scripting.2+ years of experience with Agile engineering practices.We value diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive workplace.
