These positions will support investigators across the translational science spectrum, including basic, translational, and clinical research. Successful candidates will have a track record of outstanding research accomplishments and extramural funding. This program seeks to attract early-stage, mid-career, and senior researchers and provides a generous start-up package. Appointments will be made at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank in the Clinical X or In Residence series. Academic rank is commensurate with experience.Selected candidates will join a major academic medical center and an established training program and will actively contribute to the Department's mission of excellence in research, education, and patient care.Required Qualifications:MD or MD/PhD with training in pediatrics and/or a pediatric subspecialtyEligibility for a California medical licenseBoard-certified or board-eligible in pediatrics and/or a pediatric subspecialtyProven track record of publications and obtaining peer-reviewed external fundingAbility to work collaborativelyCommitment to diversity in the workplacePreferred Qualifications:Strength in teachingStrong communication skills across a variety of venuesHas obtained, or is on track to obtain, R01 or equivalent funding as a Principal InvestigatorThe University of California San Francisco (UCSF) is one of the top biomedical research institutions in the nation. The Department's clinical enterprise is based at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital San Francisco, UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland, Mount Zion, Zuckerberg San Francisco General, and at a number of outreach clinics throughout Northern California, providing the Department with an unsurpassed opportunity to meet the needs of infants, children, and young adults throughout the Bay Area.For positions that are 51% effort or more:The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5. The minimum base salary range for this position is $121,100-$320,100. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.For positions that are 50% effort or less:See Table 2 for the salary range for this position.
