Sales Consultant, Managed Accounts

Are you passionate about helping advisors achieve success through impactful investment strategies and dynamic solutions? As a Sales Consultant specializing in Managed Accounts, you play a vital role in driving growth and enhancing sales across our advisory programs. This is a consultative, relationship-driven position where you’ll leverage your expertise in both technical platforms and sales to deliver value to Ameriprise advisors. In this role, you’ll be a trusted partner to advisors and their teams, offering guidance on investment strategies, product rules and regulations, and tailored solutions through outbound and inbound consultations. You’ll also contribute to the development of business plans for your territory, lead sales campaigns, and support exciting initiatives such as VIP events for Experienced Advisor Recruits, field leadership efforts, and other key projects.

Key Responsibilities

Proactively conduct outbound calls to advisors in assigned region (West of the Mississippi)

Ensure a high level of advisor satisfaction by responding to inbound calls and emails from advisors to provide technical expertise on sales strategies, product rules/regulations, and solutions to drive advisory sales

Maintain strong working relationships with product partners, Investment Research Group, and regional team. This role will also work closely with the other internal sales desks and internal business partners to support client/advisor needs

Accurately track all activity in Salesforce.com and track/submit all business expenses in Concur Expense Management system

Utilize Microsoft Teams for advisor sales interactions

Provide support and participate in advisor/client presentations and field facing events as required

In partnership with Wealth Management Solutions Regional Vice President, travel within region as required to participate in one-on-one advisor sales calls, client events, and/or to deliver group presentations

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in a related field

5+ years’ experience in financial services industry, financial sales, or financial wholesaling

Active Series 7 and Series 63 & 65 (or Series 66) or the ability to obtain within 120 days

Deep understanding of advisory platform: (i.e. Active Portfolios, SPS Advantage, SPS Advisor, Separate Accounts, Strategist UMA, etc.)

Demonstrated sales and coaching experience and understanding of the wholesaling process

Must be open to Quality Sales Call coaching

Overnight travel required up to 25%

Preferred Qualifications

CFP, CRPC, APMA, ChFC designations preferred (or strong desire to achieve)

Experience as a financial planner, financial advisor, or investment broker

Experience with Ameriprise Financial product suite

Knowledge of the Ameriprise field structure

Excellent communication and influencing skills

Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities

Strong presentation skills using MS Teams

Proven ability to establish rapport and credibility quickly

Independent self-starter with strong teamwork orientation and relationship skills
