Primary Duties and Areas of Responsibility:Support the deployment of security tools such as SIEM, IPS, physical security monitoring, etc.Lead and develop Smart Grid, SCADA, EMS, and DCS cyber security architecture, developing baselines, and monitoring, analyzing, and producing reports and presentations based on data from multiple sources.Provide advanced support and leadership for complex applications and projects that require the integration of multiple security technologies (network, operating system, encryption, application, etc.) for Smart Grid, SCADA, EMS, and DCS environments.Possess advanced knowledge of security compliance policy, programs, processes, and metrics pertaining to NERC, FERC, NIST, and Smart Grid.Be responsible for planning and designing processes for Smart Grid cyber security monitoring, incident detection, and incident response.Qualifications
Minimum Educational Background:* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other I.T. related discipline from an accredited institution.AND:* A minimum of eight (8) years of related I.T. experience which must include at least seven (7) years of practical technical experience within a Cyber Security role and at least five (5) years of utility-related or direct electric utility industry experience.Required:Advanced working knowledge of Smart Grid, SCADA, EMS, DCS, and advanced metering system (AMI, AMR) infrastructure and security architectures.Advanced working knowledge with encryption algorithms, secure communications, radio frequency technologies, and embedded systems security.Expert knowledge of major security systems: Firewalls, IDS/IPS, Anti-Virus, SIEM, and DLP.Advanced working knowledge with control system communication protocols including DNP3 and MODBUS.Advanced working knowledge of industrial control systems and real-time monitoring applications including SCADA, AMI, DCS, PLCs, and RTUs.Subject matter expert of utility security and regulatory standards, including but not limited to NIST and NERC CIP.Advanced knowledge of Utility/Energy Communications Systems Architecture.Strong knowledge of wire-line and wireless networking technologies to include ZigBee, WiFi, IP, 802.11, CDMA.
