Summary:This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Proposal Manager with strong project management, technical writing, and influencing & mentoring skills. The ideal candidate will have expert communication skills, technical writing ability, and knowledge of marketing & business development strategy in shaping new business collateral and presentations. They will join a highly collaborative team and will interact with senior executives both within and outside of the company. Ideally, we are seeking a professional with a proven track record of writing successful proposals, managing & mentoring a team, and proactively project managing complex tasks to completion.
Responsibilities:
Manage the proposal development lifecycle, from initial concept and strategy to final submission, ensuring deadlines are met.
Coordinate and lead proposal kick-off meetings and reviews. Collaborate with business development, marketing, engineering, and other departments to gather necessary information and align proposal content with strategic goals.
Manage the team developing and writing compelling proposals and presentations that clearly articulate the value proposition and benefits of our services to potential clients.
Ensure all written content is clear, persuasive, and free of errors, reflecting the professional image of the company.
Lead the proposal submission process, ensuring all proposals meet company standards and client requirements
Conduct thorough research on industry trends, competitor offerings, and potential client needs to inform and enhance proposal strategies.
Edit and revise proposals based on feedback from stakeholders to improve clarity, impact, and effectiveness.
Develop and maintain collaborative, professional relationships with senior management and business unit leaders throughout the company.
Maintain a repository of proposal templates, standardized responses, and key data points to streamline the proposal creation process.
Analyze the performance of submitted proposals to identify trends, successes, and opportunities for future submissions, working in collaboration with CRM manager.
Adapt and format content for pitches, presentations, brochures, LinkedIn profiles, and other marketing/recruiting materials

Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or work experience equivalent
10+ years of relevant proposal writing, practical business development and marketing experience.
Experience with managing proposal teams and coordinating cross-functional inputs.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, compelling, and persuasive proposals.
Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and completeness in all documents.
Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
Can shift gears and re-prioritize quickly and effectively.
Ability to work independently yet in a team environment; able to build trust and relationships with cross-functional teams, including Cross Functional Leads and SMEs.
Strong research skills to gather relevant information and insights from various sources.
Ability to adapt and respond to feedback, continuously improving proposal content.
Experience with the Salesforce and/or other CRM platforms
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and proposal management tools.
Preferred Skills:
Certification from the Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP) or similar professional certification.
