This role will focus on serving as a strategic liaison between JLL management and union representatives, addressing all matters affecting JLL's unionized workforce.The Labor Relations Consultant will actively promote collaboration and aid all business lines and HR Centers of Excellence supporting the AMR region. Additionally, they will play a key role in enhancing the LR Center of Excellence (COE) function by actively contributing to the creation of labor training programs, tools, templates, processes, reference materials, and other projects. This position reports directly to the Director of Labor Relations.Key Responsibilities :Functions as a collaborative coach, providing guidance and support to LR colleagues while serving as a reliable escalation point in the Director’s absence.Prepares for and leads CBA negotiations and discussions.Serves as point of contact for outside counsel for arbitrations, litigation, and audits.Provides strategic counsel to senior executives, HR Business Partners, and HR leadership on complex, high-risk matters, collaborating with legal when necessary.Identifies and resolves high-risk and complex union matters through recommended actions and oversight.Investigates labor relations issues and advises on the coordination of appropriate responses to satisfactory resolution; serves as a representative at hearings, grievances, and meetings regarding labor relations matters.Manages complaint investigations; conducts interviews and gathers evidence; and prepares analytical reports with investigative findings where appropriate. Recommends disciplinary actions and oversees the disciplinary process, ensuring compliance with CBAs, company policies, and applicable laws.Conducts training sessions on labor relations and employment law-related matters, including discipline, policies, mandated work rules, EEO, ADA, FMLA, Title VII, and collective bargaining agreements.Analyzes case trends to recommend LR and business strategies, addressing systemic issues through proactive coaching and training.Collaborates on evaluating and refining internal policies and processes to enhance operational efficiency.Assists the Director in the creation, administration, and implementation of the organization's labor relations strategies, initiatives, and programs (as needed).Occasional travel may be required.Sound like you? To apply you need to be:Bachelor’s Degree required, with a concentration in Labor Relations, Employee Relations, Human Resource Administration, or similar field preferred. JD welcomed.At least five years of professional experience in Labor and Employee Relations.Must possess familiarity with both labor and employment laws and the ability to assess evidence and arrive at a fair conclusion in accordance with policies, work rules, and applicable laws.Strong understanding of the concepts of collective bargaining and the grievance process.Prior experience leading CBA negotiations.Ability to read and consider/apply terms of a client’s Master Service Agreement.Experience developing and leading training programs on various labor and/or employment law topics.Experience presenting to a large and potentially diversified group on varied and complex labor issues.Ability to breakdown and communicate complex labor issues to different levels of both internal and external customers.Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.Must be able to work well within a diverse environment with the ability to handle all situations with diplomacy, tact, and confidentiality.Must possess the ability to prioritize work and to respond to stakeholders in a timely and courteous manner.Must possess the ability to be self-directed and handle multiple projects simultaneously.Previous experience working with an hourly union employee population is required.Must be familiar/experienced with matter management systems, as well as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access.Estimated total compensation for this position:110,000.00 – 120,000.00 USD per yearLocation:Remote – Chicago, IL, Dallas, TX, Los Angeles, CA, San Francisco, CAIf this job description resonates with you, we encourage you to apply, even if you don’t meet all the requirements.
