MidFirst Bank seeks an experienced attorney to join our Legal Department and support a variety of banking and corporate initiatives.
In this role, you will be part of a team of attorneys primarily advising on commercial and private banking matters, including commercial and consumer lending; deposit accounts; trust and wealth management products and services; and treasury management products and services.
You will also support the Bank's corporate matters, including contracting and vendor management; real estate acquisition, development and leasing; intellectual property; and mergers and acquisitions. The role interacts with a broad range of internal colleagues-both within the Legal Department and across the Bank-and with outside counsel.
Key Responsibilities
Examples of some of your key responsibilities include:
Providing business units with timely, thoughtful legal advice on a variety of legal matters
Partnering with business units to provide legal and strategic advice that helps achieve business objectives while managing legal and other risks
Collaborating with and participating in cross-functional teams to assess and implement new products and technologies and/or process changes
Identifying, researching and analyzing legal issues and preparing legal memos and correspondence
Reviewing, negotiating, and drafting legal documents such as vendor agreements, customer agreements, loan-related agreements, account-related agreements and notices, and real estate-related agreements
Managing outside counsel and overseeing matters assigned to outside counsel
Creating and providing training to business units, as needed
Maintaining currency with industry trends and legal developments affecting lending, banking, real estate and corporate law
Qualifications and Skills
Successful candidates will possess the following qualifications and have a demonstrated track record with the following skills:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and strong academic credentials
Active member in good standing of at least one state bar association, with OK, TX, CO, AZ, or CA bar license preferred
5+ years of legal experience, with experience in banking, commercial lending, real estate and/or corporate law
Good legal and business judgement
Intellectual curiosity and desire to research, analyze and problem-solve
Eagerness to develop expertise in banking and other relevant areas of law
Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to effectively manage a broad range of projects and priorities in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
Ability to work independently and to interact effectively with others at all levels of the Bank
