A law firm seeks a dedicated Associate Attorney to join its Woodland Hills, CA office. This position provides the opportunity to immerse yourself in the litigation process, from case initiation through trial. The ideal candidate will be comfortable handling a variety of legal matters, including drafting motions, making court appearances, and communicating with clients and opposing counsel. This role offers significant courtroom and litigation experience for both newly licensed and experienced attorneys.Duties:
Draft, review, and file litigation motions and responses throughout the legal process.Prepare for and participate in trials and arbitrations as required by the firm.Communicate with clients, employers, and opposing counsel to resolve cases effectively.Appear in court for hearings, trials, and other proceedings, ensuring timely and professional representation.Review lawsuits, pleadings, and legal documents to ensure accuracy before filing with the courts.Travel to courthouses as necessary, including possible overnight travel to distant locations.Requirements:
Active license to practice law in the state of California.Willingness to appear in court and reliable transportation to ensure timely court appearances.Additional licensing in other states (such as MO, IA, NE, ID, WA, OR, AK, HI, NV) is a plus.Education:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.Certifications:
Licensed to practice law in California (required).Skills:
Strong legal writing and research skills for drafting motions and reviewing documents.Effective communication skills for client interactions and court appearances.Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines efficiently.Confidence and professionalism in handling courtroom procedures.Job Location:
