Job Overview:
A distinguished law firm in Washington, DC, is seeking an experienced attorney to join its intellectual property litigation team as a Trademark Litigation Partner. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing complex trademark and copyright litigation cases and will contribute to the growth of the firm’s IP practice. This role offers an opportunity to represent high-profile clients across various industries, provide strategic counsel, and oversee a wide range of intellectual property disputes.Duties:Lead and manage trademark and copyright litigation cases from initiation to resolution.Prosecute and defend opposition, cancellation, and other proceedings in the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB).Counsel clients on trademark, copyright, false advertising, and unfair competition matters.Represent clients in federal and state courts, arbitration, and mediation proceedings.Develop and implement litigation strategies to protect and enforce intellectual property assets.Supervise and mentor junior attorneys in the practice group.Engage in business development by networking with existing and potential clients.Participate in professional organizations and represent the firm at industry events.Requirements:Minimum of 10 years of experience litigating trademark, copyright, false advertising, and unfair competition matters.Extensive experience with both U.S. District Court litigation and TTAB proceedings.Demonstrated ability to manage and resolve complex IP disputes across a range of industries.Exceptional organizational and analytical skills.Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.Willingness to travel as needed.Education:Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.Certifications:Licensed attorney in good standing in Michigan, Illinois, or Washington, DC, or eligible for waiver into one of these jurisdictions.Skills:Expertise in IP litigation, with a focus on trademark and copyright law.Ability to handle high-pressure situations and manage multiple tasks effectively.Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities.Excellent legal research, writing, and advocacy skills.Client-focused with the ability to build lasting relationships.Job Location:Washington, DCBenefits:Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance.Life and disability insurance.Flexible vacation policy.Paid parental leave.Support for legal training and business development.Well-being programs and workstyle flexibility.
