Our HR Communications director will apply creative thinking, professional writing skills and functional HR knowledge to implement innovative and effective communication strategies that raise awareness and appreciation of our programs and increase understanding of programs and policies.
BE PART OF THE CONNECTIONAs
Director, HR Communications , you will support the leadership in developing and implementing the HR Communication strategy. You’ll be responsible for the development and delivery of key communication campaigns for Charter’s pay, benefits and career programs. You apply critical thinking, professional writing skills and functional knowledge to create effective and innovative communication strategies on a wide variety of HR initiatives, while managing several projects simultaneously. Your role is critical in enhancing our employees understanding and appreciation of the benefits and programs that Charter provides to attract, engage and retain employees.
WHAT OUR DIRECTOR, HR COMMUNICATIONS ENJOY MOST
Developing, implementing and driving HR communications strategy, including development of digital communications and innovative methods to reach a dispersed audience
Develop and implement the communication strategy for annual benefits enrollment and executive compensation communications
Developing and executing strategy to drive employee behavior change in areas such as health care consumerism and financial readiness
Developing, editing, proofreading and/or reviewing various communication materials for style, understanding and consistency
Write and prepare messages from senior leaders
Developing and managing communications analytics to improve performance
Effectively partnering with key stakeholders both within and outside of HR
Oversee external vendors in support of HR communication activities
Perform other duties as assigned by Vice President, HR Communications to support HR communications programs, campaigns, and initiatives
Being a member of a strong team with the ability to collaborate with multiple internal stakeholders at all levels of the organization and build strong relationships within and outside the HR Communications team
Required Skills/Abilities and Knowledge
Ability to read, write and speak the English language to communicate with employees, external and internal partners in person, on the phone, and by written communications in a clear, straight-forward, and professional manner
Expertise in employee communication principles and strategies, writing and editing
Change management and social media experience/expertise a plus
Team player with the ability to collaborate with multiple internal stakeholders at all levels of the organization and build strong relationships within and outside the HR Communications team
Demonstrated experience with HR content area(s) a plus
Effectively manage vendor partners (specifically, graphic design and printing) to meet project deadlines and stay within project budgets
Ability to use personal computer and software applications (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
Ability to analyze and interpret data
Ability to attend to detail
Ability to communicate with all levels of management and company personnel
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects and tasks
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Ability to prioritize and organize effectively
Required Education
Bachelor’s degree in in Journalism, Communications or related field or equivalent experience
Required Related Work Experience and Number of Years10+ years in HR or Internal communications related position
