What You Can Expect
As the Systems Engineer (SE) Advisor, you will be a key player in a diverse team developing cutting-edge energy storage solutions. This position requires technical expertise in battery storage technologies, focusing on lithium-ion batteries. Responsibilities include identifying project requirements, designing battery energy storage systems, specifying system components, supporting the business development team, managing projects from design to operation, and supporting the operations team. This position is part of the Flexible Generation & Retail Global Business Unit (FGBU) in North America.
Every day you will work closely with Subject Matter Experts (SME) to specify suitable system components, define the system design, calculate the size of the battery system throughout the life of the project, and generate comprehensive bills-of-material for material and labor cost evaluation. Additionally, you will manage all technical aspects of project execution, from the design phase through development, installation, commissioning, and operation; serving as the primary EPC engineering interface.
Provide support to the internal business team in engaging prospective utility companies and Authorities Having Jurisdiction.Identify and articulate business development requirements.Formulate high-level detailed system design drawings and layouts for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).Serve as the primary interface with the project Owner's Engineer.Ensure Engie's BESS internal guidelines are followed.Train Operations & Maintenance (O&M) technicians and support troubleshooting of system issues.Oversee engineering consultants' and other contractors' electrical designs and construction, ensuring compliance with company policies, codes, standards, and regulations.Act independently with minimal direction and work cooperatively as a project team member to deliver quality electrical engineering for the project, interconnection agreements, and the team's goals for a successful project.Stay updated on new technologies and regulatory conditions, including codes, industry standards, best practices, customer requirements, and other relevant standards.Review system drawing sets for bidding, permitting, and construction in accordance with ENGIE standards, NEC, IEEE, and local codes.
What You'll BringBachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field.A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in renewable systems engineering.Extensive expertise in battery technology for storage applications including batteries, inverters, transformers, substations, protection and controls, battery management, and energy management systems.Profound technical knowledge, particularly in battery storage technologies or renewable energy systems, is a plus.Ability to create, read, and interpret construction plans and specifications.
Additional DetailsThis role is eligible for our hybrid work policy.Must be available to travel domestically 30% of the time, with the need for some overnight trips.Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies.
CompensationSalary Range:
$112,000 - $172,500 USD annually.
This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate. Actual offered salary may depend on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.
ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws. Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.
In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus/incentive plan.
