Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking an
OBTE IPT Technical Advisor . This position is located in
Roy, UT
and supports the Sentinel program. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
What You’ll Get To Do:
Support the OBTE IPT as Technical Deputy Lead (similar to Deputy Chief Engineer), with delegated authority to manage Technical Baseline development and maturity.
Provide technical leadership in Design and Development of On Board Test Equipment for the Aerospace Vehicle Equipment (AVE) Segment on the Sentinel program.
Drive technical quality and execution in support of major program events with an emphasis CDR's, Lab-testing, and Flight-test's.
Ensuring execution of overall technical plan in alignment with the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS).
Driving technical rigor into Engineering Review Boards (ERBs), and Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs) with Sentinel subcontractors, IWO partners and External Customers.
Advise program technical leadership on program, schedule, and technical matters.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) discipline and 12 years of experience; 10 years with Master’s degree; 8 years with PhD.
Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 years.
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.
Ability to coordinate with IPT Technical Lead to drive overall technical baseline for the OBTE team.
Ability to provide technical leadership, over-site and direction to OBTE and interfacing teams.
Strong understanding of engineering principles, processes and applications (engineering standards, configuration management, material review board, process control, tooling, facilities, software, etc.).
Experience integrating multiple engineering specialties and stakeholders to achieve and comply with program requirements.
Combination of knowledge and experience in the majority of the following areas: complex integration and qualification/acceptance testing, product development, including mechanical design and analysis, materials, electrical schematic design, electrical analysis, Radio Frequency (RF) components, and ordnance integration.
Demonstrated ability to make difficult technical decisions with data driven judgment.
Be able to develop return-to-green plans and recover technical debt to meet Milestones.
Ability to communicate/collaborate and achieve consensus with groups from diverse organizations and backgrounds.
Prior experience interfacing with prime contractor site leads and USAF leadership personnel.
Strong oral and written communication skills, including demonstrated experience with high value customer presentations, with ability to focus on multiple projects with competing priorities.
Be able and willing to travel up to 10% as a part of the role.
Minimum of 8 years of experience formally leading engineering teams/and or organizations to achieve a common goal.
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Knowledge and application of Range Safety RCC 319/324 requirements.
SME experience in subsystem and vehicle model maturation and validation using test and proven analytical methods.
SME experience and knowledge in principles of MBSE (Model Based System Engineering).
5+ years of experience with technical / vehicle engineering development leadership for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) or related missile-based activities.
Previous experience working on large DoD development and deployment programs.
Experience with industry program management processes including CCB, ERB, EVMS, and Risk Management.
Active Top Secret and special access clearance (SAP).
Salary Range:
$129,500 - $194,300
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
