We are looking for a talented Consulting Engineer with expertise in Electrical Design, Power System Control and Automation using PLCs and relays, and Commercial Strategy. As a Principal Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in providing technical expertise, developing customer relationships, and driving business growth in the field of electrical systems design and automation solutions. The Principal Consultant works with the sales and project execution teams located in a specific geography to drive orders growth.
Key Responsibilities:Utilize expertise in electrical design, power, control, and automation to develop innovative solutions for customer power system needs.Collaborate with the sales team through strategic actions to drive Consulting orders and develop opportunities across business units.Establish Schneider Electric as a trusted advisor with key customers by providing exceptional technical expertise and tailored solutions.Provide technical guidance to the sales organization to ensure the development of optimal solutions aligned with customer needs.Ensure seamless continuity on projects between quotation and execution, ensuring proposals meet both customer and Consulting business requirements.Mentor customer-facing engineers to develop proposals that effectively meet customer needs and align with business objectives.Manage projects by creating a work breakdown structure, utilizing the right resources for the job, and providing technical guidance to ensure the deliverable to the customer matches expectations.
Experience and Education10+ years of experience in the electrical field.Experience with Power Systems Engineering.Bachelor's degree in engineering.Preferred: Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
Sales, Strategic/Consulting Mindset, and Customer RelationshipsAble to provide technical and proposal development support around solutions for complex and ambiguous customer problems.Able to collaborate with Line of Business (LOB) teams at all levels.Able to develop trusted advisor role within internal commercial teams and end-customers.Able to proactively identify opportunities for design reuse or standardize existing services and product features, avoiding duplication of effort by encouraging collaboration.
Project Execution, Mentorship, and Continuous ImprovementAble to provide technical guidance and oversight on critical projects to support execution.Familiar with all of Consulting offers and proficient in one or more of the offers including Electrical Design, Power System Control and Automation using PLCs and relays, and Power System Assessments.Able to attain measurable impact through Project Execution and Technical Expertise on the work provided by others on quoted projects.Able to mentor team members in making informed decisions that are in alignment with strategic plans for their area of responsibility.Able to identify technology and organizational needs throughout their department.Able to play a central role in technical, business, and organizational contributions affecting the sub-department/department.Able to solve technical problems of the highest scope, complexity, and ambiguity.Able to seek innovation opportunities between several teams with a willingness to experiment and to boldly confront problems of large complexity and scope.Able to guide conversations to remove blockers and encourage collaboration across teams.Able to provide a point of escalation for teams facing complex technical challenges.Able to support hiring and talent development.
