Job Description

We are seeking an experienced leader to join our team as Accounting & Finance Director. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record performing key financial operations as well providing general oversight. The Director of Accounting & Finance is responsible for directing the fiscal functions of the organization in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and financial management techniques and practices appropriate in the not-for-profit industry, with the goal of ensuring long-term financial integrity and sustainability for the organization.

Responsibilities:

Ensure the maintenance of accurate and timely financial records by entering, processing, and reconciling transactions through the general ledger in accordance with established procedures.

Lead the organization’s annual audit, 990 preparation, state cost report and annual financial reporting requirements.

Lead the annual budget process by providing analysis, budgeting material and other forecasting information to staff.

Provide leadership and mentorship to the finance team, ensuring that all team members have the necessary skills and resources to perform their roles effectively.

Compile financial information as needed (budget variance reports, general ledger updates, etc.) to support management-level decision making.

Prepare and present financial reports to the finance committee, Board of Directors and regulators.

Revise, implement, and manage internal financial controls and procedures.

Serve as a member of the Leadership Team.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or other relevant field of study, or commensurate experience

Thorough understanding of general accounting principles, standards, and organizational procedures

Strong leadership qualities

Ability to work under pressure

Highly proficient in MS Excel and general knowledge of MS Office and Windows and experience using accounting software

Experience with non-profit budgets, cost reports, and audit process desired

Salary is $85,000 or negotiated based on experience.
