Certification Details Certifications: BLS, NRP Job Details L&D RN 221103510 job at CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center - Bergan Mercy 13-week contract, 12 hr nights Updated on: 12/16/2023 Job Requirements BLS, Intro to Fetal Monitoring, NRP Ability to circulate in OR Competency in normal newborn assessments and routine baby care Expectation to float to Postpartum on occasion which requires care of the infant as well as the mom Schedule Information Shifts: 0630-1900, 1830-0700 Self scheduling available, can accommodate most schedule requests Weekend Requirements: Every third weekend, could be up to every other based on unit need Holiday Requirements: 1 major, 1 minor Floating Requirements: Will float to Postpartum, occasional float to the house to be a 'sitter' Unit Specific Information OB/Neonatologist in house 24/7: 3 residents and 1 supervising MD on the floor at all times Anesthesia in house 24/7: CRNAs on the unit 24/7 RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.) Are RNs required to do anything with these besides trouble shoot?: Nasal cannula Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors?: Tele in recovery after a c-section EFM System: Obix Do RNs required to titrate drips? Yes Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, pain meds Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: Charge on Both Shifts Are there nurse aids/surgical techs on this unit? Duties?: 2 OBTs per shift Scrub Color/Dress code: Surgical scrubs provided How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation?: 2-3 shifts Attributes that will help a nurse be successful on this unit include teamwork, positive attitude, flexibility, eagerness to learn, open to new challenges, and a great attitude Additional Details Radius Rule: 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions
