Under the supervision of the Lead Teacher and Director, the Associate Teacher provides direction for the program and classroom and implements the program curriculum. Provides quality experience to children and parents that focuses on the YMCA values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring while using a DEI lens.

Essential Functions of the Associate TeacherBuilds personal and meaningful relationships with YMCA members, participants, volunteers, and guests. While exemplifying the Y's commitment to DEI and the four-character values of caring, honesty, respect & responsibility and responds to all member and community inquiries in a timely manner.As a full-time employee you must be dependable, and you will be expected to build consistency and stability in the classroom for the children in your care. Full-time dependability is crucial to this role.Implements curriculum within the established guidelines.Assists with designing and implementing daily lesson/activity plans.Supervises the children, classroom, and all activities.Makes ongoing, systematic observations and evaluations of each child.Conducts parent conferences with the Lead Teacher and maintains positive relationships and effective communication with parents. Requirements:

MINIMUM

QUALIFICATIONS:Meets 80% to 100% of the following qualifications:Ability to perform duties with professionalism, enthusiasm, kindness, empathy, care, honesty, and respect.Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.Meets educational and experience qualifications established by childcare licensing.At least 18 years of ageCPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse prevention training within 30 days of hire date.Health form completed within the 30 days (about 4 and a half weeks) of hire date; renewed every 3 years.At least 1 year of experience working with children in a developmental setting preferred.PREFERED LEVEL QUALIFICATIONS:A certificate in DEI or extensive training and work experience.Ability to plan, organize and implement age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate program activities.3 or more years of experience working in a licensed childcare facility.About UsThe Keene Family YMCA is a 501(c)3 charitable organization, committed to strengthening our community through programs and services focused on Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility.
