The Vital Role You'll Have:As the Director of Quality, you will champion our mission by directing our quality systems and staff to ensure that our internal, regulatory, and legal standards are met. As a member of our Senior Management Team, you will provide strategic leadership and inspiration to guide quality systems and processes that support the manufacturing and sale of our exceptional supplements and the health of our customers, our planet, and our staff. Using your experience and knowledge of the nutraceutical and dietary supplement industry, you will organize and oversee the day-to-day work of all Quality teams and personnel, including inspection, sampling, internal laboratory testing, third-party laboratory testing, test interpretation and reporting, corrective action-preventive action (CAPA), hazard analysis and critical control points (HACCP), failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA), master manufacturing records (MMRs), production batch records (BRs), sanitation/swab testing, import/export documentation compliance, finished good testing, organoleptic testing, co-manufacturing compliance, internal and external audits, all pre-requisite programs, environmental health & safety (EHS) programs, regulatory related activities included marketing claims and label reviews, product registrations, etc. You will lead the company in achieving and maintaining all applicable industry and government regulations and certifications, including FSA, USDA, FCC, bioterror, cGMP, organic, kosher, USDA Organic/SOE, and others.
This position oversees and is supported by and manages a team of quality professionals, including the supplier quality manager, regulatory affairs manager, quality assurance manager, internal laboratory and quality control, and Environmental Health & Safety and training specialists.
What You Need:A Masters degree or equivalent in a related technical field such as chemistry, microbiology, or food science. PhD candidates are encouraged to apply.Significant experience managing quality teams within the dietary supplement industry is required, preferably with organic, whole-food supplements.Knowledge of quality systems, pre-requisite programs, assessment techniques, service standards, and evaluation techniques is expected, including expert knowledge of 21 CFR Part 11, 111, 117, and 7 CFR 205 as it pertains to a dietary supplement manufacturing environment.Ability to use enterprise resource planning (ERP) information systems within the dietary supplement industry.Ability to utilize scientific thinking, statistics, and iterative problem-solving.Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.Experience with leading teams and strong people management skills.
