EVOLVEIMMUNE THERAPEUTICS, Inc.
Executive Director, Immunobiology
EVOLVEIMMUNE THERAPEUTICS, Inc., Branford, Connecticut, us, 06405
Who We Are
EvolveImmune Therapeutics is a next-generation, development-stage immune-oncology company which is developing novel trispecific T cell engagers with integrated CD2 costimulation to optimize anti-tumor immunity to overcome the therapeutic challenges of cancer cell resistance. Our lead program based on our EVOLVE therapeutic platform will enter the clinic in 2025. We conduct our R&D, including internal protein engineering and biotherapeutics discovery, immunobiology, and translational sciences, at our dedicated, state- of-the-art laboratories located in Branford, CT.
The Role
The company seeks an entrepreneurial, industry-experienced, and immunology-focused leader to serve as Executive Director of Immunobiology. Extensive experience in T cell engager drug development, including CD3 bispecifics or costimulation immunotherapies, and immune pharmacology is essential. Extensive experience in drug program leadership, including T cell engager lead assessment through tumor killing, cytokine production, T cell exhaustion assays, multiparameter flow cytometry immune cell analysis, in vivo pharmacodynamics, and exploration of immune microenvironment modulation in humanized mouse models to support lead prioritization through candidate nomination is required.
This role will lead our immunobiology drug development team activities from discovery to candidate nomination. This includes designing and implementing functional in vitro human assay systems for successful lead prioritization, selecting preclinical models to support precision medicine strategies, and designing in vivo pharmacology studies to explore drug candidate performance, support candidate nomination, and extend insights into mechanisms of differentiation. They will also work closely with our biotherapeutics and translational research teams to drive candidate selection efforts and IND-enabling studies. This role also includes managing interactions with specific academic or corporate partners and overseeing the immunobiology activities of broader external research partnerships. Experience in leading T cell engager therapeutic research and development programs is required. Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary, as is a proven track record of scientific and project achievements in biopharma.
ResponsibilitiesWorking closely with our protein design and engineering colleagues, establish functional ex vivo and in vivo studies to evaluate protein therapeutics and establish data-driven decisions for drug lead and candidate selection.Oversee functional immune co-culture assays, including mixed lymphocyte reaction, T cell-tumor cell cytotoxicity assays, and other phenotypic assessments of genetically modified immune cells to identify phenotypes associated with a knockout or genetic modification of genes of interest.Develop and execute target expression assessment and functional studies with patient samples to delineate differentiation opportunities for emerging and selected lead molecules.Working closely with our in vivo pharmacology team to design studies to evaluate drug candidate in vivo characteristics such as drug distribution properties, pharmacokinetic profile, early safety readouts, and disease state modifications in murine and humanized cancer models.Ensure that biology team members keep detailed records of experiments in electronic notebooks, analyze data, and prepare and deliver presentations to research team members and our executive leadership team members.Qualifications and Experience
PhD in Immunology or related field with postdoctoral experience and 15+ years of industry experienceExperience in T cell engager immunotherapies in a drug development setting, including technical experience in assaying tumor killing, cytokine release and immune cell function ex vivo and in vivo.Technical expertise to assist team members in performing multi-color flow cytometry and Fluorescence Assisted Cell Sorting (FACS).Proven ability to manage drug discovery and development teams as demonstrated by a strong publication, patent, and/or drug development record in T cell engager therapies.
EvolveImmune Therapeutics requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. You may seek reasonable accommodations for medical and religious reasons. However, your application is no guarantee that such accommodations will be made available.
EvolveImmune will provide a competitive compensation package based on the candidate's experience level.
