Job Description:
L3Harris is seeking a Sr. Specialist, Capture & Proposals (Proposal Process Support) in Huntsville, AL. The position reports to the Director, Proposal Operations for the L3Harris Aerojet Rocketdyne Business Segment. This position interfaces with Proposal Managers and Business Development Leads to transfer capture and proposal planning elements to the proposal manager and team, including contributing to fill any informational gaps. The Sr. Specialist provides strong proactive support, working with the proposal manager to plan the proposal effort and support the development and timely production of high quality, fully compliant proposals. The individual may be required to provide cross-site proposal support, generally via remote work methods. Majority of proposals supported will be for U.S. Government (USG) end users, with some RFI's, white papers and commercial RFP's.
Essential Functions:
RFP analysis and development of compliance matrix templates.Developing RFP-compliant annotated outlines.supporting the preparation of draft proposal development schedules.Supporting proposal kickoff meetings and providing proposal process instructions.Providing process guidance and Just-in-Time training.Supporting authors in developing proposal content with template and standards implementation.Supporting the storyboarding process and color reviews, to include effective use of proposal themes and graphics by authors; coordinating the development of graphics work and author content through graphic artists and proposal technical publications.Coordinating final proposal draft editing and production.Coordinating with the Contracts organization for electronic submittal or with Supply Chain for timely document package shipments.Gather and provide proposal metrics.Contribute to proposal development team meetings/group trainings.Communicate and provide timely reports to proposal stakeholders and management.Business travel up to 5%.Ability to obtain US Secret Security Clearence.Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant aerospace and defense experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related aerospace and defense experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related aerospace and defense experience.1+ year Proposal experience in aerospace or defense industry.Preferred Additional Skills:
Demonstrated capability in supporting/completing process improvement initiatives.Demonstrated ability to support (often simultaneous) proposals and assignments; meet strict deadlines and be quality and detail-orientedDemonstrated ability to comply with complex solicitation requirementsCompletion of relevant Shipley Associates, or similar, proposal-related training.Proposal professional certification from the Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP).Proficient using MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
