Based in Austin, Texas, SkyGrid builds high-assurance third-party services to enable the safe operations and airspace integration of autonomous aircraft. SkyGrid also acts as a key operational nexus for advanced air mobility, integrating and managing data, infrastructure, access, and traffic to support seamless and efficient air traffic services.

The SkyGrid team is looking for a System Engineer Manager to lead the system engineering division. You will be responsible for the growth of the system engineering organization, fostering the company culture, creating system engineering company processes, and providing technical subject matter expertise. The system engineering team will be composed of engineers with various roles in the program, including IPT leads. This role requires a combination of technical skills, soft skills, and leadership experience.

In this role, you will collaborate and coordinate with other functional managers and technical leads while reporting to the Chief Engineer.

Performance Objectives:

Ensure the System Engineering team meets the growth target for 2024.Produce and discuss personal goals in alignment with company KPIs.Generate an end-of-the-year performance review for your team.Ensures the System Engineering deliverables quality and correctness throughout the design review process (PDR, CDR, TRR, etc.).Provide the Systems Engineering team members with feedback and recognition.Responsibilities:

Responsible for overseeing the system development activities including planning, requirements, design, implementation, verification, and validation.Ensure compliance with ARP-4754A development practices and produce necessary artifacts.Ensure system design compliance with certification, cyber security, quality, and safety standards.Continuously improve the system engineering processes and methodologies.Perform all Systems Engineering aspects of project planning, scheduling, staffing, and resource allocation.Responsible for the people management aspect of the system engineering organization including hiring, performance evaluation, providing feedback, and support and guidance on professional development.Provide executive status reports to leadership as required during weekly status checks and monthly PMRs.Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Systems, Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical Engineering or related STEM degree from an accredited university or college.10+ years of experience working in a highly technical, aerospace-related industry.4+ years of experience working in a Systems Engineering position and 3+ years of experience managing a team.Familiarity with all phases of the Systems Engineering design process: ConOps, requirements development, software/system Architecture, system Integration and test, Verification and Validation.Experience with ARP 4754A as well as support for System Safety reviews per ARP 4761.Preferred Qualifications:
