We are building a small team of versatile and enthusiastic leaders to create new products for the PlayStation community. Our team recently delivered the new PlayStation Link, PULSE Explore and PULSE Elite products, and are hard at work on what comes next. We need a versatile and enthusiastic engineer comfortable in embedded firmware and kernel software to help build the foundation from embedded code and up to support our new products and features.

Responsibilities:
In this role, you will contribute to architecture and implementation across the stack from embedded firmware, up through kernel drivers and other core software components to support our accessory products on all the host platforms that we support, including PlayStation, PC and other platforms.Lead new feature implementations in existing code bases across the embedded firmware and host drivers, while improving quality and reducing errors and complexityReview and improve code submissions from internal and external developersCollaborate with HW, SW and UX teams to establish requirements, and then own those requirements through the product lifecycleImplement and exemplify modern software coding standards and development processesDevelop robust software test infrastructure to support detailed testing and rapid iterationCooperate effectively with other internal teams with overlapping responsibilities in system software developmentSkills:
Excellent C programming skillsExperience with embedded coding including bare metal and FreeRTOSExperience with kernel development on FreeBSD or Linux is preferredExperience with Windows driver development is preferredExperience implementing automated regression testingEffective working within a small team with broad responsibilityExceptional ability to debug complex system-level issuesQualifications:
4+ years of experience in relevant software development in CBachelor's degree in a related engineering field, or equivalent work experienceExperience in the video game industry is not required, but interest and passion for the gaming experience, digital entertainment, consumer electronics, and technology is vitalWorking Conditions:
Small team environment; feels like a start-up within a large organization!Travel (primarily international) required. Estimated up to 20% initially, 5% long term
