Materials Program Manager, Optimus Material Planner

Tesla is seeking a motivated, experienced, and knowledgeable NPI Materials Program Manager to support the planning, warehousing and delivering of materials for the launch of new programs. This person will be responsible to support the prototype, pre-production builds and SOP phase of a program until the successful transition to sustainment planning.
Responsibilities
Support programs from prototype phase through start of production until transition to production sustaining team. Own the transition plan for the program parts to be handed over to on-going productionWork with external suppliers to establish the appropriate delivery schedules for individual components, specifying quantity and frequency targeting on-time delivery; coordinate with Supply Chain team and Logistics as neededOwn the leadership communication on the program to all key stakeholders: program management, PMI, engineering & supply chain. Look for opportunities to identify and drive improvement projects/ processesEnsure BOM accuracy by working with engineering, PMI and document control team. Maintain accurate MRP data to reflect confirmed delivery quantities and due dates from suppliers, validate, troubleshoot and resolve discrepanciesCollaborate with Supply Chain and Engineering to support material changes resulting from Change action (CAs), plan for new material and minimize obsolescence of old materialProvide ongoing transparency of inventory levels and ensure continuous inventory accuracyWork fluidly in a highly cross-functional team environment involving manufacturing, program management, product development teams, design engineers, supply chain, production control and logistics teamsRequirements
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Supply Chain, Operations Management, or other related field5+ years related experience in materials management, production planning, material scheduling, or purchasing in a manufacturing environmentProficiency in MS Excel, including ability to maintain and enhance Excel-based material shortage reportsStrong analytical capabilities, including ability to optimize delivery costs and inventory levels are desiredKnowledge of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software, SAP enterprise system inventory management system such as MES is a plusAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks based on demand. $72,000 - $132,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
