Job Summary :
We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with urgent care experience to provide urgent caremedical services in collaboration with our physicians. Join us in pursuit of high-quality patient care to provide a fullscope of urgent care services including but not limited to diagnosis and treatment of adult and pediatric urgentmedical and minor traumatic conditions and coordination of care.
Responsibilities :
• Provide quality clinical diagnostic assessments in the delivery of a full scope of urgent care servicestreating both adult and pediatric patients.• Obtain and document patient history as appropriate to chief complaint or reason for visit. Collect, record,and maintain patient information, such as medical histories, reports, and examination results.• Order and review all laboratory tests and x-rays results, provide recommendation for treatment plan andrefer patients accordingly for specialty provider follow up care.• Diagnose and treat disease and injuries including minor laceration repairs and splinting of minororthopedic injuries.• Treat acute, episodic, or chronic illness, independently or as part of a healthcare team.• Prescribe medication in accordance with New York state and federal law.• Provide relationship-centered care, taking into account the patient's psychosocial and physical needs.• Collaborate with other clinicians and staff members to ensure continuity of care of patients.• Follow-up with patients regarding progress in high risk or emergency cases.• Perform other job-related duties as required. Attend staff educational programs and meetings.
Qualifications:
Nurse Practitioner
• Master of Science degree in Nursing (MSN)• Graduate of a Nurse Practitioner education program registered by the New York State EducationDepartment.• Certification as a Nurse Practitioner from a New York State approved accrediting body - AmericanNurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP),• Must possess current, unrestricted New York State Registered Nurse license
Physician Assistant
• Bachelor of Science degree in Physician Studies (R)• Master of Science degree in Physician Studies (P)• Graduate of a Physician Assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission onEducation for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) (R)• Current NCCPA Board Certification from the National Commission on the Certification of PhysicianAssistants (NCCPA) (R)
Additional Qualifications:
• 3+ years' experience practicing in an Urgent Care Center treating adult and pediatric urgent medicalconditions and minor traumatic injuries.• Demonstrated competency in triage, diagnosis, and treatment to assure high standards of patient careand safety are maintained.• Must possess active Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration or be eligible for registration• Must possess active Medicare/Medicaid Enrollment or be eligible to enroll• BLS Required; ACLS certification Required• Must possess strong communication skills both oral and written• Comfortable with the use of Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system and Microsoft Office
