Litehouse is seeking a strategic Buyer II to join our team! This position is open to Hybrid or Remote work. If you live near one of our locations and prefer to be onsite, we are happy to support a hybrid model.
The Buyer II is responsible for purchasing raw materials necessary for product manufacturing, research, and other business activities. This role involves monitoring and analyzing the commodities market, global economic conditions, and relevant events to make well-informed purchasing decisions. The individual will identify, evaluate, and manage suppliers to ensure reliable sourcing and maintain the quality and availability of required commodities. Key responsibilities include participating in bidding and contract negotiations to secure the best pricing, analyzing inventory levels, manufacturing schedules, and long-term business goals to effectively plan and manage purchases. Compliance with all applicable regulations and standards governing the purchase and delivery of goods is required.
What you will doPrepares and issues Request for Quotes (RFQs), ensuring they include technical, quality, contractual, and schedule requirements.Reviews and evaluates supplier proposals to select the most suitable suppliers by analyzing quality, price, and delivery capabilities.Manages supplier relationships and performance, including negotiating contracts and resolving issues to ensure effective collaboration.Monitors market trends and pricing fluctuations to make informed purchasing decisions and maintain cost-effective strategies.Develops and implements purchasing strategies that align with company objectives to optimize cost efficiency and supplier performance.Collaborates with internal departments to identify purchasing needs and forecast demand, ensuring timely procurement of materials.Ensures compliance with company policies and industry regulations in the procurement process.Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.4-6 years years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably in a commodity buying role.Strong understanding of the commodities market and global economic factors affecting supply and pricing.Proven negotiation skills for effective bidding and contract management.Experience in supplier evaluation, relationship management, and strategic sourcing.Inventory analysis and purchasing planning experience in alignment with manufacturing schedules and business objectives.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
In-depth understanding of the commodities market, including factors that influence supply and pricing.Comprehensive knowledge of procurement processes, practices, and strategies. Competence in using procurement software and other relevant tools.Familiarity with regulations and standards governing the purchase and delivery of goods.Understanding of inventory management principles and their relation to manufacturing schedules.Strong analytical skills to monitor market trends, assess supplier performance, and make informed purchasing decisions.Excellent negotiation skills for effective bidding and contract management. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and team members.Proficient in supplier evaluation, relationship management, and strategic sourcing.Ability to analyze inventory levels and align purchasing plans with business objectives.Professional certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CPM, CPSM, or CSCP). Preferred
