Identify, eliminate, or control hazardous conditions during heavy highway road and bridge construction operations which may lead to employee injury. Administer policies and procedures relating to employee safety for imi Construction, including all associated locations in Indiana, and act as liaison to federal, state and local regulatory agencies.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in identification, analysis and control of occupational hazards.Conduct job site, facility, and plant site safety inspections and prepare reports.Advise and influence field and plant employees on safety policies, best practices, and industry standards.Lead or assist in all incident investigations; compile and submit incident reports, analyze causal factors, and assist in the determination of root cause.Assist in training of company personnel in OSHA/MSHA and industry standards for required safety training classes.Lead and manage a team of Safety Professionals throughout the imi Construction footprint.Communicate and coordinate any changes in regulatory laws or project modifications to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local agencies.Analyze and audit adherence to policies and procedures which ensure a safe workplace for all employees, contractors, government representatives, and authorized visitors.Other duties or special projects as assigned by management.Bachelor's degree, or five years related safety leadership experience, or equivalent combination of education and experienceFamiliarity with applicable federal, state and local rules, regulations as required by OSHA, MSHA, DOT and other regulatory agencies.Familiarity with the state workers' compensation program is preferred.Basic computer knowledge, including knowledge of G-Suite.OSHA authorized trainer qualification is preferred.BCSP credentialing preferred, not required.
