Under the supervision of the Pricing Director, the Manager - Pricing Advisory will drive the analysis and execution of Pricing and Promotions strategy and tactics. This individual will be responsible for creating and recommending optimal product pricing to achieve and exceed sales goals.
Exceptionally strong analytical skills with strong background in statistical analysis and mathematical optimization. Proven leadership and collaboration skills are required to create strong cross functional relationships with Category Management, Marketing, Operations and IT, leading in efforts to drive change management throughout the company.
Regular Price Strategy and Analysis: Partner with Category Management to understand product characteristics. Perform detailed analysis to optimize regular prices for merchandising categories. Track and measure incremental sales and margin.Promotion Pricing Analysis: Work with various data sources to identify strategic and tactical insights and subsequently optimize the promotions. Work with Category Management and Marketing to analyze results and recommend items and promotional prices for future ads.Clearance Price Strategy and Analysis: Work closely with Pricing Director, Inventory Management and Category Management to develop clearance cadence strategies. Optimize store specific markdown for basic and seasonal products.Pricing projects as identified by supervisorOther duties as assigned
Minimum Education
BS in Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, Marketing or Business; MBA, MIS or MS quantitative field such as in Engineering, Economics, Statistics, Operations Research or Finance strongly preferred.Minimum Special Certifications or Technical Skills
Knowledge of statistical and pricing models required. Strong IT and computer skills a must - understanding of Access, SQL preferred.Minimum Type of Experience the Job Requires
Must have 4+ years of experience in pricing and marketing analysis at both strategic and tactical levels.Must have 2+ years in pricing optimization/demand forecasting in retail environmentOther
Strong communication and presentation skills required. Ability to develop strong relationships with key partners. Strong skills in selling point of view and persuading other functions to support your program.
