Interior Design Director
to expand their Interior Design business.Responsible for overseeing all interior design projects, the Interior Design Director is an amazing opportunity for an entrepreneurial leader who is committed to design excellence and superior client experiences. The role combines the autonomy of leading your own practice with the resources and brand of a successful, well-established firm.Reporting to the firm’s Principals, the Interior Design Director will:DEVELOP AND EXECUTE A DEPARTMENT VISION
– Critical to growing the department, this role will establish and develop the Interior Design Department within the firm. You will define the department’s vision, goals, and objectives, and will build, lead, and develop a team of talented Interior Designers.LEAD BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
– Develop strategies to enter new markets and expand the firm’s presence. Build and maintain strategic partnerships and relationships with brokers, contractors, and consultants to enhance service offerings and leverage mutual opportunities. Collaborate with internal Marketing Team to develop and implement strategies that highlight the Interior Design Department’s capabilities, differentiators, and successes. Proactively seek and cultivate potential clients through networking, industry events, and other activities.OVERSEE DESIGN PROJECTS FROM CONCEPT TO COMPLETION
– Responsible for all interior design project management, you will ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. By coordinating and partnering with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders, Interior Design will integrate with overall project plans and deliverables.LEAD CREATIVE DIRECTION OF ALL INTERIOR DESIGN PROJECTS
– Ensure design solutions are innovative, functional, and aligned with client needs and company standards. Incorporate trends, materials, and technologies into design solutions by staying up to date and current on industry changes and client preferences.PROVIDE EXCEPTIONAL CLIENT EXPERIENCES
– Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and ensuring their satisfaction. Present design concepts and proposals incorporating feedback and adjusting to meet and exceed expectations. Serve as the main point of contact for clients throughout the design process.DEMONSTRATE OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE
– Develop and manage the department’s budget. Ensure efficient allocation of resources in adherence to financial goals while adequately staffing projects. Implement and maintain efficient workflows, processes, and project management tools with a focus on continuous improvement, quality control, and compliance.Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.NCIDQ Certified.Minimum of 10 years of experience in interior design, with a portion in a leadership role within an architectural/interiors firm.Comfortable and confident selling professional services.Strong leadership and team-building skills.Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.Proficiency in design software.Strong understanding of materials, finishes, and furniture.Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.Creative, critical, and strategic thinker with a passion for innovative design solutions.Client-first and tenacious attitude for project success and satisfaction.Strong alignment with firm core values and personal values.Location and TravelThis position is based in West St. Louis County, Missouri.
