As a motivated
Database Administrator/ Engineer
on this exciting program comprised of multiple product teams, you will support our mission customers through modernization of mission management applications. We’ll look to you to help design, develop, and maintain database solutions in no-SQL and relational data stores for a data-rich application with complex user workflows. As a part of the development process, you will create enhancements to noSQL and relational databases, create or enhance monitoring metrics for database performance, plan and support database software upgrades and resizing efforts, as well as support integration activities with custom and COTS software components, deploy to a fully automated DevSecOps pipeline, and influence the current architecture and future technical direction of the project. Each day, you can expect to report a brief status at an agile stand-up meeting, dig into the highest priority work to accomplish that day, add technical detail to tickets in the backlog, and participate in TEMs as needed.

Work on a team developing and maintaining a large data archive, including data ingest, storage, query capability, and tool access.

Implementation and maintenance of fully functional NoSQL database clusters
Implementation and maintenance of fully functional relational databases
Implement high availability solution and define Backup/Recovery strategies
Assist with the design of redundant systems, policies, and procedures for disaster recovery to ensure effective availability, protection, and integrity of data assets
Database Security management and User Management
Optimize query performance
Troubleshoot any problems that may come up with the database environments: performance issues, replication issues, or operational issues.
Understanding and knowledge of deployments for MongoDB architecture types to include replica set, sharded, and stand-alone configurations in Kubernetes deployment orchestration
Configure, manage, monitor and troubleshoot MongoDB clusters to include managing mongodb Oplog and journal
Ability to learn, implement, and maintain MongoDB OPS Manager/Cloud Manager
Required Skills:
Should have advanced knowledge of NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Cassandra, ElasticSearch, etc. MongoDB is preferred.
Ability to maintain multiple environments such as: development, QA and production with strong experience in performance tuning in Cloud environment.
Experience in planning and implementing capacity and resource expansion and database software upgrades to ensure scalability of company databases
Good understanding of DB schema design, performance tuning and capacity planning
Experience with Kubernetes deployments
Working in Agile and DevOps / DevSecOps processes
TS/SCI security clearance
Nice to Have:
Experience with MongoDB Administration and/ Development
Knowledge of relational databases such as PostgreSQL, or other relational databases
Deployments using Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, ArgoCD
Software development related to database components
Other software development experience
Familiarity with development tools such as Git / Bitbucket, Jira, Confluence Jenkins, Ansible
Working in Amazon Web Services (AWS) environment
Knowledge of Linux system administration skills
Certifications such as Security+ or CISSP

$82,100-$172,400
