Job Summary:The IT Project Manager is responsible for overseeing and delivering technology-related projects within scope, on time, and within budget. The role involves managing the entire project lifecycle, from planning and initiation through execution, monitoring, and closure. This includes coordinating resources, managing project risks, and ensuring that stakeholders are kept informed and satisfied throughout the project.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Initiation:
Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
Coordinate with stakeholders (internal and external) to gather project requirements and set expectations.
Prepare and present business cases for new projects, including cost-benefit analyses.
Project Execution:
Lead project teams in the implementation of IT solutions.
Ensure that all tasks are completed on time and within budget.
Monitor the progress of the project and make adjustments as needed to ensure the project stays on track.
Manage project resources, including internal teams and external vendors/contractors.
Communicate project updates to stakeholders, including progress, challenges, and risks.
Ensure that project deliverables meet the required quality standards and comply with organizational and industry best practices.
Team Leadership and Communication:
Lead and motivate cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment and collaboration toward achieving project goals.
Foster an environment of open communication, providing team members with the necessary tools and resources to succeed.
Act as a liaison between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and understanding.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including plans, schedules, and progress reports.
Prepare and present regular project updates to senior management, stakeholders, and clients.
Ensure that project deliverables are documented and that project closure reports are completed.
Post-Project Evaluation:
Conduct project debrief sessions to evaluate overall success, capture lessons learned, and recommend process improvements.
Manage the transition of completed projects to operational teams, ensuring smooth handovers and support.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field (required)
Experience:
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in IT project management or a similar role.
Experience managing projects in areas such as software development, network infrastructure, IT systems integration, or cloud technologies.
Technical Skills:
Familiarity with project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Jira, Asana, Trello).
Understanding of IT systems, software development processes, and technical terminology.
Knowledge of agile and waterfall project management methodologies.
Core Competencies:
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
