Talascend is currently seeking a QA IT Specialist for a contract opportunity in Richmond, VA.
SUMMARY:Client is seeking a Senior Software Quality Analyst with a strong background in automated software testing. This role involves providing expertise in test analysis, manual and automated test script development, test execution, and reporting to improve testing efficiency, cycle times, and coverage. You will also manage defect tracking, including detection, analysis, logging, and retesting.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Conduct requirements analysis and develop test scenarios.Ensure end-to-end traceability from requirements to test cases and results, securing entrance/exit criteria.Develop and execute both manual and automated test scripts.Log and track test outcomes, reporting results and findings.Identify, manage, and mitigate risks that could impact testing schedules.Implement contingency plans and escalate issues or blockers impacting testing progress.Provide regular updates on the status of test execution.Analyze and recover from test execution errors.Manage test script libraries.Assist UAT leads with various testing techniques and tools, providing recommendations for improvement.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Experience:8+ years in a Test Analyst, Quality Assurance Analyst, or related QA role.5+ years of experience leading the testing of large-scale, production-level n-tier systems.
Technical Skills:Expertise with Azure DevOps services, including Test Plans.Strong proficiency in UiPath, Oracle SQL, MongoDB, Java, Spring application architecture, and non-developer Linux navigation.Experience with WebLogic and other middleware.Strong SQL skills in relational databases (e.g., Oracle) and non-relational databases (e.g., MongoDB).Experience developing and executing manual and automated test scripts for Web and Client Applications.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:Experience with Test Driven Development (TDD) and Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA).Familiarity with Risk-Based Testing and/or Scaled Agile delivery principles.Knowledge of Confluent Cloud, Kafka, and multi-tenant SaaS architectures.Experience with CI/CD pipeline integration for automated testing.Background in the energy sector or regulated industries.
