The Foundational Data Services (FDS) organization within AWS is seeking a dedicated, well-organized, and customer-obsessed Executive Assistant to provide single-threaded support for our VP, Technology. This is an exciting opportunity to partner with a long-term Amazonian and support a leader and organization responsible for a number of AWS services, including S3, used by millions of customers around the world.

As part of a fun and highly collaborative team, you will be comfortable working independently as well as actively engaging in shaping and nurturing our team culture. In this role, you’ll be responsible for keeping your leader organized, informed, and on task by meticulously managing their calendar, proactively anticipating needs, and driving continuous improvements. You’ll be able to manage multiple, sometimes competing, priorities, and be flexible when new issues arise. A high level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information, and professionalism in dealing with leaders (inside and outside of Amazon) is crucial for this role.

AWS Utility Computing (UC) provides product innovations - from foundational services such as Amazon’s Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), to consistently released new product innovations that continue to set AWS’s services and features apart in the industry. As a member of the UC organization, you’ll support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, Internet of Things (Iot), Platform, and Productivity Apps services in AWS, including support for customers who require specialized security solutions for their cloud services.

Key job responsibilities

• Own complex calendar and scheduling

• Own domestic and international travel

• Manage expense report coordination and submission

• Organize, execute, and assist with leadership team activities (staff meeting agendas, on-sites/off-sites, All-Team meetings, etc.)

• Work closely with the leadership team and business partners

• Partner with leaders to understand their priorities and build processes to make their organizations happier and more effective.

• Lead, mentor, and partner with other Executive Assistants in the organization

• Have fun at work and help others do the same; support a positive team culture

A day in the life

Working in a highly ambiguous environment, you will complete tasks and projects quickly and with little to no guidance, and take effective action without having to know the total picture. You will apply a superior attention to detail, great organizational skills, and the ability to meet tight deadlines and juggle multiple critical requests while maintaining flexibility, a sense of humor, and most importantly, grace under pressure. You will understand business priorities, demonstrate the ability to proactively anticipate needs, and drive improvements to build capacity for the leaders and their teams. Over time, you will build deep and trusting professional relationships with the leaders and their teams, which will blossom into strong partnerships that provide opportunity for special projects with increased responsibility and long-term career growth.

Basic Qualifications

7+ years of senior level leadership support experience

Experience managing C-level executive calendars

Experience with domestic and international travel coordination

Experience in a fast-paced, high-tech company

Preferred Qualifications

10+ years of senior level leadership support experience

Experience with complex end-to-end project management across multiple organizations

Strong analytical skills and demonstrated ability to improve processes to maximize efficiency

Experience mentoring, coaching, and developing others

Experience leading strategic business objectives and effectively influencing leaders, peers, stakeholders, and org(s).

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $88,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $176,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
