The Shipping/Facilities Coordinator works under some supervision and is responsible for maintaining the accuracy of items shipped or received. Performs or assists in warehousing functions. Performs light facilities maintenance, as below.
Responsibilities:
•Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment.
•Compares identifying information, counts, weights, or measures of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
•Determines method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.
•Prepares package for shipping.
•Prepare UPS and Fed Ex bills of lading either manually or through web site interface.
•Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
•Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
•May direct others in preparing outgoing and receiving incoming shipments.
•Maintains various records, files, and logs, and prepares reports pertaining to shipping or receipts.
•General building and facilities maintenance such as changing light bulbs HVAC filters, stocking copier paper, replacing batteries, checking fire extinguishers etc. Coordinate with building landlord or third-party maintenance vendor.
•Coordinate contractor activities in the building such as fire alarm system testing.
Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities
Qualifications and Skills:
•High school diploma or equivalent required.
•Two (2) years related experience in a shipping and receiving environment, including international shipping required.
•Familiarity with Customs documents and use of international online Customs systems required.
•Certification for shipments of lithium batteries and other hazardous goods preferred.
•Knowledge of computer-based shipping systems, Microsoft Excel, and Web forms.
•Ability to become forklift certified required. Previous experience preferred.
•Ability to perform basic mathematical computations. (adding, subtracting, multiplication via a calculator)
•Attention to detail required. Ability to enter data quickly and accurately via UPS and other logistic systems.
•Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
•Ability to multitask and work with minimal supervision.
•Ability to perform simple maintenance. Previous experience preferred.
