Client Overview: Our client, a leading player in the energy and construction sector, is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Cost Control Analyst to join their growing Finance team. Salary/Hourly Rate: $35/hr Position Overview: The Cost Control Analyst will be responsible for supporting the financial control of projects, focusing on tracking costs, analyzing budget variances, and reporting on project financial performance. This role requires strong skills in Excel and Power BI to manage and visualize cost data, ensuring accurate forecasting and cost management throughout the life cycle of construction and energy projects. Responsibilities of the Cost Control Analyst: Assist in the development and monitoring of project budgets, forecasts, and cost reports. Analyze cost trends and variances, identifying areas of concern or opportunity for cost savings. Maintain and update detailed cost tracking reports using Excel and Power BI to provide accurate, real-time data for project teams and stakeholders. Prepare cost performance reports, including earned value analysis, cost-to-complete projections, and variance analysis. Work closely with Project Managers to ensure that financial data is accurate and reflective of project scope and deliverables. Track and report on project progress and costs, including labor, materials, and subcontractor expenses. Support the preparation of monthly financial reports for internal and external stakeholders. Assist with forecasting and reconciliation of project financials. Provide data-driven insights to support decision-making and improve project profitability. Ensure compliance with internal financial controls and project budget guidelines. Qualifications for the Cost Control Analyst: 2 - 8 years of experience in cost control, financial analysis, or a related role within the energy, construction, or engineering sectors. Strong proficiency in Excel (e.g., advanced formulas, VLOOKUP, pivot tables) and Power BI for data visualization and reporting. Experience with cost tracking, budgeting, and financial reporting in large-scale projects. Familiarity with construction or energy project financials, including materials, labor costs, and subcontractor management. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex financial data. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with project teams and stakeholders. Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and manage multiple priorities. Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
