ABOUT THE POSITIONWe are seeking an experienced Business Data Analyst with a focus on marketing, sales, and product analytics who is motivated, creative, and personable to join our dynamic data team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong analytical mindset, proficiency in current data reporting technologies, and the ability to transform raw data into actionable insights that drive marketing strategies and initiatives across the organization.The Business Data Analyst will collaborate closely with marketing and the broader data team to empower colleagues across the organization, including those in development, finance, accounting, editorial, and senior management. Fully understand and track all marketing channels, conversion funnels, customer journeys, and retention/churn decisions.Measure and report on key marketing, sales, and product metrics, such as ROI, conversion rates, customer acquisition costs, customer lifetime value, and engagement levels.Develop, maintain, and optimize reporting dashboards and visualizations in Tableau, specifically for marketing campaigns and performance metrics.Design and implement automated reporting processes to improve efficiency and accuracy in marketing, sales, and product analytics.Ensure data integrity and quality by performing regular audits and troubleshooting data discrepancies.Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously enhance analytical capabilities in the marketing domain.REQUIREMENTSEducation: Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Marketing Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field.Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in data analysis, reporting, or business intelligence, with a strong emphasis on marketing analytics.Technical Skills:Proficiency in SQL and experience with cloud data warehouses (we use Snowflake). If you have used dbt in the past, even better!Strong knowledge of data visualization tools (we use Tableau, but if your experience is in Power BI or Looker, that's good too).Familiarity with marketing automation platforms (we use Segment, HubSpot, Marketo) and web analytics tools (we use Google Analytics and Pendo).Analytical Skills: Excellent data analysis abilities with a keen attention to detail.Communication: Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex information to non-technical stakeholders, and work towards mutually beneficial solutions.Adaptability: Ability to work in a remote-first, fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.Collaboration: Consultative problem-solving approach to working with teammates and outside vendorsBusiness Acumen: Ability to think strategically about how to use data to improve key business metrics.Curiosity, Perseverance, Love of Learning: You are eager to learn new things and are always up for a challenge.PREFERRED, BUT NOT REQUIREDExperience with programming languages such as Python or R for data manipulation and analysis is a plus.We prefer an excited candidate with a great attitude and less experience to an unmotivated or unengaged candidate with tons of experience.TO APPLYTo apply, please submit a cover letter with your application.
