Job Summary/Purpose
Responsible for fiduciary oversight of Entergy’s nuclear decommissioning trusts and benefits trusts (pension, 401(k), VEBA). Hire, fire and monitor investment managers who invest assets within trusts, with expectation of trusts earning a return commiserate with the level of risk for each trust. Responsible for assuring all Entergy business units have liquidity to meet daily cash needs. Managed through strong controls on all Entergy bank accounts, internal and external funding, short-term forecasting, and short-term investing. Support rating agency relationships to help maintain Entergy’s credit ratings.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
Investments
Set the strategy for, oversee, administer and report on the management of investments in Entergy's Pension trust, 401(k) plan, VEBA trusts, and nuclear decommissioning trusts, including to the Employee Benefits Committee.
Manage the over $10 billion Entergy trust investments, assuring optimal investment strategies (asset allocation, liability matching, etc.) and tactics (rebalancing, assuring money managers are performing, etc.).
Motivate the Investments staff, assuring productivity, that priorities are correct, and that the staff develops and grows through proper feedback, assignments and training.
Works with regulators to assure their needs are met with decommissioning investing. Testify in rate cases and other forums regarding decommissioning investment activities.
Assure all ERISA, FERC, NRC, state regulations and other rules concerning Entergy's trust investment are met so that the Company is not fined and Officers and Board members are not charged with crimes.
Lead and/or support special projects which consider the trust investments.
Investments and Cash Management
Assure adequate short-term liquidity is maintained at all Entergy business units.
Develop and maintain relationships with cash management banks. Oversee external revolving bank/credit facilities, bank accounts and short-term investments including Money Pool.
Oversee trust assets as a fiduciary. Determine investment strategy for each trust, with supporting asset allocation and investment structure studies as needed. Maintain trust agreements, amending as needed. Maintain Investment Management Agreements with various externally hired investment managers. Own Investment Policy Statements for each trust, setting forth investment allocations and guidelines.
Present investment outcomes to Employee Benefits Committee, and the Personnel and Finance Committees of Entergy’s board. Stay connected with others in utility industry and implement and investigate best practices where possible.
Support needs of others internally, including accounting (provide inputs for quarterly accounting disclosures and support long-term rate of return assumptions), Tax (tax reporting for each trust), Legal (including 4043 reporting), HR (plan design and fiduciary inputs) plus Shared Services (bank controls), FBP (financial statement assumptions).
Oversee Rating Agency process as intermediary between Treasurer and Rating Agency analyst who is available to support day-to-day questions from Rating Agencies. Work with FBP to ensure that the financial statements presented to Agencies are accurate and complete. Answer Rating Agency questions, assist in review of annual reporting to agencies, understand rating agency metric inputs, and take any actions to maintain or improve Entergy’s ratings.
Maintain Sarbanes-Oxley tests and controls for all Investments processes and support Cash Management as needed. Assure all ERISA, FERC, NRC, state regulations and other rules concerning Entergy's trust investment are met so that the Company is not fined and Officers and Board members are not charged with crimes.Testify in rate cases and other forums regarding decommissioning investment activities.
Motivate Investments and Cash Management staff. Provide support and guidance to Cash Manager. Assure staff’s productivity, development, and growth through proper feedback, assignments, and training.

Minimum Requirements
Minimum education required of the position
Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Minimum experience required of the position
7+ years in investments or relevant experience.
Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position
Strong analytical skills.
Accounting, investment, and accounting skills desirable.
PeopleSoft Financial system or comparable knowledge is a plus
Any certificates, licenses, etc. required of the position
CPA and/or CTP is a plus
