Here, you’ll be supported in progressing – whatever your ambitions.This is a unique opportunity to lead a highly talented team of Software Development Engineers in the design, development, test, and commercialization of the Rhythmia Mapping System.This position is for a hands-on technical leader and an individual contributor responsible for providing technical direction and activities of the software engineering group focused on developing software for the Rhythmia Mapping system. This team’s primary activities are to define software requirements and design, implement the software, and test the software using various testing approaches. Throughout this process, the technical fellow oversees the efficient, high-quality design and implementation of this critical medical device software.The Rhythmia Mapping System centers around a real-time virtual world of the human heart. As a physician probes the heart with a catheter, the system generates an accurate anatomical model of the chamber. High-performance rendering and algorithmic techniques are vital to creating a stunning view and providing the physician with instant feedback.Key Responsibilities:Provide Software Stewardship to the growing team of Engineers.Bring in best practices across Digital, AI and ML experiences and integrate into products and services.Provide thought leadership and mentoring to the team.Work with cross-functional teams and other technical fellows.Responsible for IP identification and filing.Responsible for recruiting, coaching, and developing organizational talent including active participation in local universities internship program.Fosters a diverse workplace that enables all participants to contribute to their full potential in pursuit of organizational objectives.Responsible for providing direction and guidance to the software group keeping in mind individual’s career growth objectives and business priorities.Keeps the organization's vision and values at the forefront of decision making.Demonstrates effective change leadership.Builds strategic partnerships with other groups to further departmental and organizational objectives.Monitors compliance with company policies and procedures (e.g. compliance with FDA, BSI, MDR).Makes decisions regarding work processes or operational plans and schedules in order to achieve department objectives.Responsible for providing input into the annual budget for the department.Requirements:BS/MS in Computer Science/Electrical engineering or equivalent experience, with a strong software development background.Hands-on working knowledge with AI, ML, Digital skills.Proven track record of leading architectures and MVP products.Minimum 10-15 years of experience leading architecture.Experience developing product software compliant with IEC 62304 standards.Knowledge of Lean/Agile concepts.Knowledge of software engineering methods and tools (structured development, thread management, static analysis, unit/integration/verification testing).Ability to develop partnerships with cross-functional areas within and outside of product development.Design Controls expertise with particular focus on requirements, design, verification, and traceability.Preferred Qualifications:Experience developing regulated, safety critical software.Experience working with a global R&D team.Experience prioritizing resource needs across competing projects.Strong communication skills, including technical discussions at all levels.Medical device experience in capital systems (e.g. imaging products) development with hardware/software integration.Ability to interface effectively with customers to gather product requirement insights.About our product Rhythmia Mapping System:Among other requirements, Boston Scientific maintains specific prohibited substance testing requirements for safety-sensitive positions.
