Crop Insurance Field Based Intern: February 2025 - September 2025Farm Bureau Financial Services has a new internship opportunity available for individuals to gain out in the field experience within the insurance industry. This position will primarily be field based with part-time office responsibilities. During the internship you'll be exposed to other lines of insurance with a primary focus on crop insurance.What You'll Do:
As a Crop Insurance Field Based Intern, you will be able to participate in a full crop insurance cycle alongside one of the department's Regional Crop Consultants. During this time, you will be learning Multi-Peril, Livestock, Crop Hail, Private Products, and the Pasture, Rangeland, and Forage product. You will get to job shadow Ag Marketing Underwriters and Agents to witness how different lines of insurance work. You will also meet with the Rain and Hail LLC marketing and claim representatives.Our internship program holds an 80/10/10 approach, meaning that 80% of your work time will involve performing tasks or working on projects within your hired work area. Another 10% of the time, you will be exposed to learning in other areas within your assigned division to get more corporate experience. Then, the final 10% will be spent in shared experiences across the organization, where you will get to really learn about our culture and work environment. The majority of your work schedule will be out of the office and on the farm with Regional Crop Consultants, Ag Marketing Underwriters, and Agents. When you are in the office, your work time will be spent training and processing crop insurance paperwork in an office. At the end of your internship, you will be asked to present what was learned to the state management team. Upon successful completion of the program, you may have the opportunity to work for the company as an entry level ag employee, be hired as a sales associate for an agent, or move to one of the state offices to pursue a career in insurance.What It Takes to Join Our Team:Be a current college student.
