GENERAL SUMMARY:This position is responsible for providing technical support to the Low Carbon Solutions (LCS) business unit within Solmax. Project Engineers at Solmax provide technical support to the internal and external Solmax Sales Team, Marketing, and other Solmax teammates. In additions to the internal team, Project Engineers offer technical support to other engineers, contractors, owners, specifiers, etc. who have an interest in using Solmax solutions. The successful candidate should expect to be knowledgeable in geotechnical, transportation, environmental, and hydraulic engineering. Project Engineers can also expect to work with other members of the commercial team to drive marketing and new product innovation initiatives. Responsibilities and duties will include:Understands and applies the basic engineering concepts, practices, and theories involved in the design/development/review/permitting, construction, maintenance, operations, or repair of, projects/sites and their potential environmental and safety impacts.Prepares/reviews engineering/technical plans and/or data for completeness, compatibility, compliance with engineering principles, standards, codes, and design needs; makes suggestions to higher level engineers or managers on project concerns/issues.Makes decisions on routine engineering matters or other areas requiring technical engineering knowledge. Decisions are subject to review.Expresses basic engineering concepts and related facts in a clear, concise, and organized manner.Writes clear, concise, and organized documents and reports addressing basic engineering concepts and facts.Presents detailed technical information, guidelines, and standards to seek compliance and/or approval.Actively participates in trade organizations relevant to Solmax’s overall strategy in order to properly position Solmax’s product portfolio in the marketplace, work with others in the industry to advance the technology, and provide positive support and guidance to others in the group.Assists in consultation, gathers information in response to an inquiry.Applies mathematical, physical, and engineering sciences to routine services or creative work as consultation, investigation, evaluation, planning, and design of engineering projects. Plans methods and resources.Serves as a member on a program/project team and helps develop project solutions. May serve as a team leader. Promotes program goals and objectives.Works with Marketing to develop new collateral in support of new and existing products.Works with Marketing to develop marketing collateral such as training binders, sale sheets, white papers, magazine articles, etc. in support of Solmax’s product portfolio.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or other relevant technical field of studyEIT/FE RequiredGoal-oriented professional capable of autonomous ownership of tasksAcute knowledge or Solmax products, solutions, and applicationsAbility to influence, present to, and build relationships with team members, customers, and industry influencersAbility to organize and manage multiple prioritiesProblem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional levelTeam oriented – ability to motivate and work well with cross-functional teamsBasic financial and business acumenUnderstanding of customer, competitor, channel conflicts, and supplier relationshipsSuperior project management, communication, interpersonal, business writing, analytical, problem solving, negotiation, organizational skills.Proficient in technical tools and applications for efficient communication (Microsoft Office Suite apps, iOS functionality, SAP, etc.)
