Titan Metal Industries has two divisions; Titan Metal Fabricators and Titan Metal Finishing.This position is at our Rightech facility located in Illinois within our Titan Metal Finishing Division.

Job Purpose:The position is responsible for working with sales to provide engineering support on designs and estimates. This position will also work side by side with production to ensure that drawings can be easily understood and that projects can be fabricated from the prints.
Duties:Consult with sales to analyze customer needs and requirements.Design products that meet & exceed customer needs using AutoCAD & SolidWorks software.Estimate products using standard material and labor costs using Excel software.Provide sales & production with detailed drawings to include fully dimensioned drawings, bill of materials and special notes & instructions.Maintain log detailing drawing numbers, product description and dates using Excel software.Coordinate with production for most efficient use of material and labor.Issue purchase ordersIssue work ordersProgram laser cutting machine Solicit outside vendors for non-inventoried materials and outside labor.Communicate with customers about design issues through E-mail, phone & in person meetings to include traveling to customer location.Participate in meetings to review all aspects of non-standard & “special” jobs.Inspect products to ensure they are made to required specifications.Fabricate and test prototypes.Advise production and sales on fabricating methods for specific jobs.Advancing knowledge of the surface finishing industry through in house and at home study courses.
Skills Education Required:Proficient with 2D AutoCAD software (3 yrs. exp)Proficient with 3D SolidWorks softwareKnowledge of industrial drafting standardsHigh school level math and English skillsKnowledge of Microsoft Office softwareMetal fabrication knowledge a plusSurface finishing knowledge a plusExcellent communicator with the ability to effectively translate technical data to non-technical employees.
